Assisi Clumber Spaniels
The Next Generation

In 2006, Rustle (AOM Ch. Shogun's Nonsuch Tradition!) was not yet 2 years old, but he made the cut at the CSCA National Specialty.  The youngest dog to do so at that show.

In 2007 at just over 3 years, Rustle made the cut at the CSCA National Specialty and went on to receive First Award of Merit.

In 2008, Rustle did not compete at the CSCA National Specialty.  Instead, his son, Ch. Nexus Dark Horse (call name SUBWAY!), competed in the Puppy Sweepstakes winning the Best Puppy in Show award. We are happy to have helped the Nexus Kennel achieve this goal, and share their happiness at the success of this young dog, who is loved and owned by Pam McCune and the Fankhauser's. Subway's page is the first to feature the offspring and the continued TRADITION! by Shogun, Nonsuch, Assisi and Nexus Kennels.

This litter produced not one but two handsome boys. Nexus Wayward Son (call name OWEN!) continues the TRADITION! of winning ways. He is owned and loved by Joan and Richard Lis and is being owner handled to his championship. OWEN! has already achieved the majors needed to be awarded the title of Champion and is working on obtaining the final few points needed. He is also going to work in Agility and will continue the versatility TRADITION! of the Nexus Kennels.

We are very pleased that Shirley and Jim Fankhauser recognized in Rustle the qualities that would mix with their lovely bitch, 2005 CSCA AOM Ch. Nexus' Githany, which would help do what every breeder wants to do -- improve the breed.  This is done by carefully selecting the best breeding stock available in order to produce a better Clumber Spaniel.

Next, Assisi and Nonsuch joined with Dr. Dennis FitzPatrick's Breakaway Clumber Spaniels and produced a nice litter of puppies with Rustle and Ch. Breakaway's Rembrance of You (Audrey).  One of these puppies, Ch. Breakaway's Liberty Belle, Tootsie, is being shown by Dr. FitzPatrick and is now a new Champion.

Ouiser was bred to BISS Ch Breakway's Let's Party in September 2008 and produced a litter of five.  Two of these puppies are going to be shown, a third is already tracking, one is being hunt trained and one is the light of his owner's heart.  We were very pleased with the litter.  Only one puppy was deemed to be of pet quality and she is being trained to hunt.  Dr. FitzPatrick will be showing Breakaway's Assisi Garden Party!, Esther, later in 2009 and Ronnie Watt in South Africa will be showing Marvin, Assisi-Nonsuch Back To Africa!

Most recently Rustle sired a litter of seven puppies with Linda Browder's HiHill's Macy's Parade.  Both Linda and I are very proud of this litter.  At this time several of the puppies are with owners who plan to show them in conformation.  One of the puppies, HiHill's Assisi-Nonsuch Easter Parade!, Dinah,  is now living with me and will be going to South Africa in the future to show there and eventually be bred to Marvin.

Our TRADITION! and our APASSIONATA are helping to improve the Clumber Spaniel Breed!
